About Us
NxtGen Farmz is a cutting-edge agribusiness whose core expertise is cultivating healthy, antioxidant-rich fruit such as blueberries and apples in an environmentally sustainable manner while nurturing and growing the local economy.
Our farms are in the high-altitude snowline region of Chalana in the Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh, at the intersection of the outer and middle Himalayas. The high-altitude berries grown by us are more special than berries grown at lower altitudes of They have more intense flavours, a higher nutritional value, come in many unique varieties and have a longer shelf-life.
Our Mission
The global population is expected to reach 10 billion in 2050 with India accounting for as much as 1.6 billion people. The resulting strain on the finite land and water resources required to grow enough food for everyone will be one of the primary challenges facing the country in the 21st century. Add to that the deleterious impact of global warming and an average population age of 60 years the importance of improving agricultural yield in an environmentally sustainable manner will be enormous.
We at NxtGen Farmz have tasked ourselves with responding to this challenge by adopting sustainable approaches and leveraging technology to both enhance agricultural yields and improve quality. These include simple solutions like rainwater harvesting and protected agriculture, as well as high-tech ones like AI-driven weather stations, all working in tandem to put in place a sustainable agriculture eco-system.
Drawing inspiration from the legendary Satyanand Stokes who ushered in an apple revolution in India by introducing the fruit to Himachal Pradesh we seek to spark a second revolution in the same region-that of growing nutrient rich agricultural produce using environmentally sustainable, commercially viable and socially beneficial means. Fortuitously, our first such farm is right next to that of Dr YS Parmar, the architect of modern Himachal Pradesh and the guiding force behind the growth of horticulture in the region.
